Australia Claims Victory Against Japanese Whaling in the Antarctic, UN Court Bans Issuance of Whaling Permit

Australia has claimed victory against Japan's whaling program as the International Court of Justice backed the landmark case. The country has demanded Japan stop catching and killing whales in the Southern Ocean. However, since Japan's whaling in the North Pacific was not part of the international case, it will be allowed to continue. The Japanese delegation spokesman, Nori Shikata, has suggested at The Hague that his country will still continue its whaling program.

New Zealand will continue searching for the missing Malaysia Airlines Flight MH370 carrying 239 people, according to Prime Minister John Key.
