Solange Knowles Arrives Late For Interview And Refuses To Hold A Lavazza Cup At Derby Day In Melbourne—Report
Solange Knowles reportedly sported some "diva-like antics" at Melbourne Cup. Former Miss Universe Australia Rachael Finch recalled and dished to Nova's Fitzy & Wippa the experience she had with Beyonce's younger sister, whom she was scheduled to interview on November 1 at Derby Day in Melbourne.
Finch said that she had a "very interesting experience" with Solange. She said that she was extremely excited for the interview and she had all her questions ready when she was told that the interview will not push through as scheduled. Solange was over an hour late.
Finch said that Solange's PR approached her to tell her that singer-songwriter is still in her hotel and will be able to meet her by 2 p.m., as opposed to their 1 p.m. scheduled interview. Finch said she and her team came back at 2 p.m. only to find out that Solange was still not available.
According to Finch, Solange also refused to answer any questions about her family. "Beyonce and family issues are off limits," Finch recalled Solange's PR telling her.
Solange also declined to hold a Lavazza cup, after the company paid her huge amounts of money just to have her there. "She would not hold a Lavazza cup, she goes, 'No thanks, I'm not doing that.'"
Solange only performed for 20 minutes, even though she had agreed to an hour-long production number. Herald Sun entertainment journalist Luke Dennehy shared a picture on Instagram of Solange, who seems to be in high spirits while performing. "Solange Knowles rocking the decks in Lavazza #derbyday," Dennehy captioned the photo.
Neither Solange nor her representatives have commented on the current issue. Solange's fans and relatives would certainly take the news with a huge grain of salt, but it wouldn't be the first time Solange had a "diva-like" attitude.
In 2008, Solange got pissed with a reporter on Fox LA. She was promoting her album "Sol-Angel and the Hadley St. Dreams" then, when a segment was shown about her brother-in-law Jay-Z's club 40/40. She referred to the news anchor as unprofessional. Solange's publicity team also banned the news outlet from asking questions related to Beyonce.
