'Solo: A Star Wars Story' returns franchise to Western look and feel
A new trailer for “Solo: A Star Wars Story” has been released online, giving fans a better understanding of what the story is all about. The video hints at the franchise's return to the old Western look and feel, which is what the original trilogy, starring Luke Skywalker (Mark Hamill), is famous for.
Just ten seconds into the trailer (see below), Han (Alden Ehrenreich) takes on bad guys in typical cowboy style. The hero has a hand close to his gun, ready to draw. This scene is reminiscent of old Westerns in which the hero and villain get into a standoff before a gunfight.
The other big scene in the film appears to be when Han won the Millennium Falcon from Lando Calrissian (Donald Glover). This appears to be their first scene together. It looks like the smuggler Lando is going to lose his prized possession in this first meeting with Han.
It is clear from recent trailers so far that Han is a good pilot who wants to be the best, even trying his luck working for the Empire. However, he will go rogue at some point.
The main plot of the movie appears to be a heist planned by a big gangster. Dryden Vos (Paul Bettany) is putting together a crew, and Han will get an opportunity to join the team. But what are they planning?
The two-sided train appears to be the target of the crew. How will Qi’Ra (Emilia Clarke) fit into all this? Viewers will have to wait and watch to find out.
