He fought and injured his 69-year-old father, who had to be hospitalised. And also killed a 68-year-old neighbour who had rushed in to save them both.

It happened last Saturday in a suburb in Perth at Justicia Close, Woodvale, at 1:20 p.m. Father and son began to quarrel, and the noise rose slowly to a crescendo. The exact reason for the attacks is not clear. WAToday reports: "A 69-year-old man of the address and his 68-year-old neighbour had both received life-threatening injuries after it was alleged that they were involved in an altercation with another man."

The wife ran to get help from her neighbor in order to make them stop the fight. The neighbour rushed to the scene of the 69-year-old father and found him badly injured in the backyard.

When the woman sat down beside him to nurse and help him, another man hurried to the front porch to wait for the ambulance.

But witnesses said that the son scrambled after the other 68-year-old neighbour, attacked and beat the "Good Samaritan", according to veooz.com.

Calling paramedics helped them to restore both on the spot but later the neighbour, who was admitted to Joondalup Hospital, died. The father continued to be in a critical state in Royal Perth Hospital on Sunday.

The son, too, was given some treatment for small injuries.

WA police said that the Major Crime Squad Detectives have slapped a charge against the 23-year-old, but he is still in Royal Perth Hospital. The son was remanded in custody, but he is required to make an appearance before the Stirling Gardens Magistrates Court on September 10.

A hearing is being planned beside the bed, and the detectives visited the spot again on Sunday.

Police hope to get witnesses. They have called for the young woman who had stopped her car near Woodvale to help the 68-year-old man in the driveway.
