Fox Digital Entertainment has announced a Sons of Anarchy game for mobile devices called "Sons of Anarchy: The Prospect." The game wil be episodic in nature, much like the television show thatis set to conclude tonight at FX, reports Game Informer. Various installments are also aim for release by 2015, which will tell one big story set in the universe of the television show.

"Sons of Anarchy" creator Kurt Stutter will helm the writing of the game's story along with other writers from the show, promising a brand new tale that features the grit and intensity of the hit TV serial. No news, however, on whether any of the original characters are returning or if their actors will reprise their roles.

What makes this interesting is that Gamespot reported a few years ago that the project was considered "dead" by Stutter himself after failed interest from "Grand Theft Auto" and "Red Dead Redemption" developer Rockstar Games and lack of support from network studio Fox. That no longer seems to be the case with Canadian studios Orpheus Interactive and Silverback games now developing the game.

There are no images of the "Sons of Anarchy" game as of yet, aside from the logo. There are also no details on the genre of the game or how the gameplay will be like, though judging by the emphasized focus on the episodic nature, it could be similar to the various franchises linked to Telltale Games. "Sons of Anarchy" can take on the style of "The Walking Dead," "Back to the Future" and most recently "Game of Thrones" that had interactive stories similar to the point-and-click adventure games of the 90's. These games also presented moral choices, which affected the progress of players.

The show starring Charlie Hunnam and Ron Pearlman has been a critical success since its first season, matching ratings with some of FX's top tier shows like "The Shield" and "Nip/Tuck." It has won various awards throughout its seven-season tenure. The popularity of the program has also lead to an ongoing comic book series from Boom Studios written by Christopher Golden with art by Damien Couceiro.
