‘Sons of Anarchy’ Marilyn Manson On How He Hated The Biker Show
Known for his role as the white supremacist Ron Tully, rocker Marilyn Manson recently revealed how he hated and loved his recurring role in FX "Sons of Anarchy." A role he was excited to play because of his father who is a big fan of the show and was mourning for his mother's passing during the time he received the news about his part as Tully.
"Spoiler alerts, I knew what was going to happen. So I would only try to read my part," he admitted during his interview with KROQ (a CBS Radio station). "I thought the show is so much about that father-son relationship and I just wanted to do something to make my dad happy, and I just thought I was gonna get a song on the show."
But instead of having his song featured on the show, Kurt Sutter's ("Sons of Anarchy" series creator) wife Katey Sagal (Gemma Teller) had other plans for him. Now that the show wrapped up its seven-year run, Manson still finds it difficult to watch objectively because his role was bigger than he thought.
Run Tully ended up killing one of the show's main character, Juice Ortiz (Theo Rossi), in one of the show's most emotional killings. Remember the scene when Juice asked Tully to let him finish his pie before he can cut his throat? Most fans are still talking about that the scene and how Juice chose to end his life in Tully's hand without anyone dictating him what to do.
Growing up without any siblings, the controversial singer revealed that he had no one standing up for him and being in the show and knowing Charlie Hunnan and Tommy Flanagan, and the rest of the guys in the show made him feel like family. The fact that he is up before noon just to get on the set shows how he loved being in the show and how well he can adapt to different schedules.
Meanwhile, Manson is schedule to release his new album "The Pale Emperor" ahead of its premiere on Jan. 20, 2015 via iTunes. Fans can pre-order the new album before its scheduled street date and catch the "Antichrist Superstar" on his "Hell Not Hellelujah" 2015 U.S. tour.
