‘Sons of Anarchy’ prequel: Series creator Kurt Sutter reveals his desire to work with Charlie Hunnam again
“Sons of Anarchy” fans are eagerly waiting for the prequel though details about the FX series are dwindling with every passing day. The series concluded in 2014 after seven seasons and became a hugely popular show. Rumours are circulating that the release of the prequel may be delayed due to series creator Kurt Sutter’s commitments with another project.
Sutter has recently partnered with BOOM! Studios to launch “Lucas Stand,” his new comic book series. Initially, Sutter had planned to release “Lucas Stand” as a TV series. However, he later changed his mind, as he found the storyline too much for the small screen. That’s when he pitched his idea to Boom! Studios, Variety reported in March. The studio had also released 25 issues of the “Sons of Anarchy” comics, based on the hit FX series.
In an earlier interview with Deadline, Sutter had discussed Charlie Hunnam, who played Jax Teller in “Sons of Anarchy” and how he bonded with the actor in London. He even called Hunnam “family” and said he wanted to work with him again.
“We hung out for an hour or so and it was this lovely infusion of family. I just really felt how lucky I was and how rare that is to have built those relationships along the way. I love Charlie, man. We can’t wait until we have an opportunity to work together again,” Sutter said.
Sutter had revealed that the “Sons of Anarchy” prequel will run for 10 to 12 episodes and will show the events before Jax Teller’s birth. It will also show how the biiker’s club was developed and how Nam and John Teller (Jax’s father) established their relationship.
Although Charlie Hunnam said he has moved on and won’t appear in the prequel, rumours are rife that Brad Pitt may be playing the role of John Teller.
“Did you read that about Brad Pitt maybe playing my dad? Brad Pitt as John Teller. How awesome would that be?,” said Hunnam in an interview with Men’s Journal.
