‘Sons of Anarchy‘ Season 7 Spoilers: Lea Michelle Nails Truck Stop Waitress Role
Currently doing the show's post-production, "Sons of Anarchy" series creator Kurt Sutter is thrilled to have Lea Michelle on the show's final season. Playing a truck stop waitress, Gertie, Michelle was highly recommended by "Glee's" executive producer Paris Barclay who happens to be one of show's director and executive producer.
In his recent interview, Sutter revealed that the Broadway singer nailed her performance as one of the guest stars in the motorcycle drama series. Lea's character who happens to be a single mother befriends Gemma (Katey Sagal) who is in need of someone to talk to after stabbing Tara with a carving fork.
"I'm just now doing post-[production] on that episode, and she's great," Sutter told TV Line. "She completely went there. Not a stitch of makeup. She's just a frumpy waitress. She really got it and embraced what the show was. I'm thrilled."
The brunette is expected to appear on season 7's episode 6, titled Smoke ém If You Got ém, which is scheduled to be aired on Oct. 14. "Sons of Anarchy" season 7 is set for Sept. 9 at 10 P.M. on FX featuring a one-hour and 45 minute premiere.
"He's really close to all those actors, and really helped them through their time of need," the tattooed showrunner added. "And I knew she was a big fan of the show, and we had this role that opened up. It was sort of a one-off and I knew we'd be able to get her in and out in a day. And the timing worked for her. She was thrilled."
Based on the show's new trailer, Jax Teller (Charlie Hunnam) will return to the small screen with vengeance in his heart for the show's most explosive season. Fans are warned for a darker season with the body count piles up as SAMCRO's president will turn himself as a vengeful Grim Reaper.
Season 7's first episode, titled "Black Widower," will kick off 10 days after Tara's bloody murder with Jax in prison for parole violation. Other stars who will be joining the SOA ensemble cast includes "The Bridge" actress Annebeth Gish and Malcolm-Jamal Warner.
