Joining the ensemble cast of FX gritty motorcycle gang drama "Sons of Anarchy," rocker Marilyn Manson has landed a recurring role for the show's seventh and final season. The controversial rockstar will play Ron Tally, "a white supremacist and prison shot-caller who Jax (Charlie Hunnam) uses to expand his power base," according to a report posted on Deadline.

Born as Brian Hugh Warner, the 45-year-old metal singer made a statement, per an FX release, about her role in the biker drama series. "Sons has been such a big part of my life, as well as my father's," said Manson in statement posted on uproxx.com. "So I was determined to make him proud by being involved in what will probably be remembered as the most amazing piece of television cinema. After all, the very heart of SOA is about that relationship. So, now all I need is a motorcycle."

"Sons of Anarchy" lead star Charlie Hunnam was happy to welcome the rocker to Charming as he posted a message on his Twitter account.

Shortly after his announcement, series creator Kurt Sutter welcomed "The Beautiful People" singer to his biker family through Twitter.

Not his first venture into television acting, Manson made a cameo on HBO's comedy series "Eastbound & Down" and he was almost unrecognisable without his dark makeup and fake eye. His acting credits include "Once Upon a Time" as Peter Pan's shadow, "Party Monster" in 2003 and "Jawbreaker" in 1999.

The casting news comes after the rocker's mother, Barbara, passed away at age 68 following her long battle with dementia. "Mother, to the first and greatest believer in me... I hope I see you again someday. But not now, because I have more things I promised I would do," says the singer on his heartfelt tribute. "I'll make you proud and satisfied that you know that you made the son you wanted. I love you."

Dedicating his upcoming SOA performance to his parents, the controversial cultural lightning rod is the perfect addition to the cast who will bring the final season of the show to the next level. "Sons of Anarchy" season 7 will return to FX in September.
