Sons of Anarchy Season 7 Updates: Courtney Love Joins SOA Cast, Finale’s First Teaser Clip [VIDEO]
Hell will break lose in FX "Sons of Anarchy" season 7 as it premieres with Jax Teller played with Charlie Hunnam as "The Black Widower" who will hunt for his wife's murderer in the show's final season. For the series' first video teaser, the 20-second spot titled "Hell Awaits," features Jax riding solo at night as his face fades to a skull and back, like a Grim Reaper ready to kill anyone who gets in his way.
With so many similarities with "Hamlet," the new video resembles the famous Gravediggers scene when Shakespeare's hero came face-to-face with the skull of Yorick following Ophelia's death, as he contemplates the man's inevitable death. Season 6 ended with a brutal and bloody finale (SPOILER ALERT) as Gemma (Katey Sagal) buried a carving fork in Tara's (Maggie Siff) head, which left Jax mourning for his wife and vowing to avenge her death.
"I get everything from, 'I can't believe they killed you off. How could they do that? I'm done!' to 'You had to go,'" Maggie Siff told Entertainment Weekly. "I saw Katey [Sagal] the other day, and she said she went to a fan gathering, and people were coming up to her with carving forks to sign. People have different investments in different characters, but people were definitely shocked and upset to some degree or other."
Scheduled to make its TV debut during the season 2 premiere of "The Bridge," the SOA teaser video will be aired on Wednesday, July 9, on FX.
Currently in production for the upcoming season, "Sons of Anarchy" casting continues and another rocker will join the stellar cast of the biker series. Joining fellow rockstar Marilyn Manson, FX just confirmed Courtney Love for a multi-episode arc as Ms. Harrison, a preschool teacher of Jax's eldest son Abel.
The "Hole" singer will play a pivotal role in the show as she takes a special interest to SAMCRO's president son, which will surely catch the attention of Abel mother Wendy, played by series regular Drea de Matteo. Her first TV dram debut, Love has previous acting credits with "Man on the Moon" with Jim Carrey and was nominated for Golden Globe for her role in "The People vs. Larry Flynt" playing alongside Woody Harrelson.
"Sons of Anarchy" season 7 is scheduled to premiere in September.
