Two exclusive multimedia apps on Sony Xperia smartphones and tablets have received new updates. These updates include the hiding of PlayMemories Online option on Album app and improvements to the start-up times on the WALKMAN app.

Album App New Hiding Option For PlayMemories Online

Previous version 6.3.A.0.12 of the Album app on Xperia devices features the hiding option of PlayMemories Online from the top area. Latest version 6.4.A.0.16 enables the hiding option of PlayMemories Online from the main grid menu itself which increases privacy for users.

"Added: The finishing touch to the Hide photo feature -- now you can hide PlayMemories Online photos from the main grid as well as from the top area," text on the Update Centre captured by XperiaBlog.

Users will also get bug fixes and performance enhancements on top of the finishing touch to the Hide photo. Downloading the new version of Album app will require 14.4 MB internal storage space.

WALKMAN App Updates: 8.4.A.5.3 And 8.4.A.5.4

There are two updates released by Sony Mobile for the WALKMAN music player app on Xperia devices. First update has the 8.4.A.5.3 app version which boosts the start-up time with better overview of the WALKMAN home menu.

"Improved: Better overview in WALKMAN home, fewer items but with possibility to open full list view," based on the screenshot capture by XperiaBlog.

A second update 8.4.A.5.4 has been released by Sony Mobile for the WALKMAN music player app. It seems like a minor update after the 8.4.A.5.3 release due to the same change logs. According to XperiaBlog, this update is still noted as 8.4.A.5.3 and will only appear as 8.4.A.5.4 by launching the WALKMAN app and viewing the details in the Settings menu.

Downloading Updates For Album And WALKMAN

Normally, Sony will notify users regarding latest updates for exclusive native and multimedia apps provided the device is connected to the Internet. In case a user missed the notification, here are the instructions to download the updates:

1. Connect the device to the Internet via mobile data or Wi-Fi.

2. Wait till the notification from Sony prompts the screen.

3. Drop down the notification shade then click on the update. If there is no notification, go the App Menu then click on Update Centre app and select Updates.

4. Click on the arrow facing downward to download updates.
