IFA 2014 for Sony Mobile is a big event that awaits confirmation of three flagship devices—Xperia Z3, Xperia Z3 Compact and Xperia Z3 Tablet Compact.

Sony Xperia Z3 is the next big thing from the Japanese tech giant and will succeed the early 2014 Xperia Z2 series. Reports from 9to5Google includes Xperia Z3 as the successor of Xperia Z2, Xperia Z3 Compact to succeed Xperia Z1 Compact and Xperia Z3 Tablet Compact to bring innovation to Xperia Z2 Tablet with 8 inches of display, waterproofing and thin design.

1. Sony Xperia Z3 is the expected flagship smartphone for late 2014 with water and dust resistance. Reports suggest specifications include 2.5 GHz quad-core Snapdragon 801 CPU, 3 GB of RAM and a 20.7 MP rear camera.

2. Sony Xperia Z3 Compact will succeed the Xperia Z1 Compact boasting similar hardware specifications as the Xperia Z3 flagship smartphone. It is expected to have 4.7 inches of screen display with 720p resolution and water resistance certification.

3. Sony Xperia Z3 Tablet Compact has been reported as well having 8 inches of screen display with 1080p resolution, similar processor and RAM with Xperia Z3, water resistance and thin design of 6.4 mm in thickness.

4. Sony Xperia E3 is the new budget phone and will succeed Xperia E series with 4.8 inches of screen display, 720p resolution, 1.2 GHz quad-core CPU from Qualcomm and 1.5 to 2 GB of RAM chipset. However, water resistance certification will not be added on this device.

Newly Released Devices Before IFA 2014

Sony Mobile released several devices prior to IFA 2014 which are included on the late 2014 Xperia collection. Most of these models are classified from mid-range to low-cost and featured with dual-SIM variations.

1. Sony Xperia M2 Aqua is a variant of Xperia M2 running Android 4.4.2 KitKat with water resistance and dust tight certifications.

2. Sony Xperia C3 features a 5 MP front-facing camera and is also known as the PROSelfie Xperia smartphone. Its front-facing camera boasts wide-angle lens and various camera apps supporting selfie captures.

3. Sony Xperia T3 that sports quad-core processor and stainless steel frame. Most of its features are inclined to style such as different colour schemes, large screen display with HD resolution and thinness of 7 mm with 148 grams of weight.

4. Sony Xperia T2 Ultra has 6 inches of HD display and a 13 MP rear camera with Exmor RS imaging sensor.

5. Sony Xperia E1 focus on music experience with several controls for the WALKMAN app.
