Sony Mobile has not yet released any official statement with the Android L upgrade plans. But the company may follow the process with Android KitKat plan which gives Xperia Z2, Z2 Tablet, Z1, Z1 Compact and Z Ultra users the first-hand experience.
Sony on Android L
Google already unveiled Android L and some of its new features for Android devices coming out this year. However, Sony has not released anything yet regarding the Android L upgrade plan unlike with HTC which confirmed One M7 and One M8 on their new update plan.
Based on the official blog site of Sony Mobile, the first batch may follow the line-up on Android 4.4 KitKat upgrade plans which primarily composed by the latest Xperia Z members.
1. Xperia Z2 (KitKat default)
2. Xperia Z2 Tablet (KitKat default)
3. Xperia Z1, Xperia Z1s
4. Xperia Z1 Compact
5. Xperia Z Ultra
Next batch is expected to be comprised by the older Xperia Z members including Xperia Z, Xperia ZR, Xperia ZL and Xperia Z Tablet and Xperia Z Ultra. But users should be wary regarding the software support expiration date among these devices. Most of these Xperia devices have received two major firmware updates - Android 4.3 Jelly Bean and the recent Android 4.4.2 KitKat.
Xperia Model | Release Date | Expected Support Expiration |
Xperia Z | February 2013 | August 2014 |
Xperia ZR | June 2013 | December 2014 |

Xperia T2 Ultra, Xperia E1 and Xperia M2 are 2014 mid-range devices included on the second quarter Android 4.4.2 KitKat upgrade plan of Sony Mobile.
Sony Mobile reserves the rights on extending the software support to any devices they seem fit for eligibility.
Android Upgrades for Other Models

Currently, these mid-range smartphones are running Android Jelly Bean if upgraded via Sony PC Companion, Sony Bridge for MAC, SUS or Over-the-Air.
Some of these devices are under investigation for Android 4.4.2 KitKat and if Sony approves for another major update, it would probably be the end of life cycle.
