Nexus 5 is now linked to the Sony i1 Honami as the device goes live revealing specifications. Ever since LG announced that no Nexus is being manufactured from their houses, spectators are now searching which company is going to make the upcoming Nexus 5. Are Sony and Google working on it?

Recent leaks and reports indicate that Sony i1 will be one of the most powerful smartphones coming to market and a blurry photo leaked unveiling its exterior.

Sony i1 Honami and Nexus 5 Related?

After the formal statement from LG that they are not making the Nexus 5, Sony seems to be the new icon with the i1 Honami which is expected to be launched on the market by summer together with Google Nexus 5. Rumours suggest that both smartphones are very real and could be the same device after all.

Sony codenamed the smartphone i1 Honami and designed as the successor of Xperia Z, flagship handset of the Japanese company. Expectations on the Honami are huge in terms of specs and features; however, Sony rules itself out regarding Nexus 5 manufacturing.

Sony hasn't made any Nexus device yet but Google can choose any top Android makers to be its co-manufacturer. If the Nexus 5 is Sony made, assume that it will have waterproof, dust-proof and scratch-proof characteristics similar to other Xperia devices. It may possibly have some Sony exclusive features such as EXMOR RS camera and BRAVIA engine display if Google allows.
