Sony will soon announce a couple of new camera imaging concepts at the IFA 2013 in Berlin, Germany. Two new "lens camera" devices will be launched which are DSC-QX10 and DSC-QX100. These "lens camera" can be mounted on smartphones and contain built-in imaging sensor - Bionz Processor. Here the 8 things you should know about Sony's new lens cameras.

1. New "Smart Shot" Lens Cameras

Sony is mixing smartphone and cyber-shot features in a single form - the Smart Shot Lens Cameras. It is expected that these "lens cameras" will perform tasks intelligently like a smartphone which may include several imaging modes, filters, burst shots, zero shutter speed and more. Cyber-shot technology will also be incorporated to "lens camera" including the famous Carl Zeiss-trademarked lenses.

2. SmartShot Lenses Feature Lens Stabilisation

While there is no exact science regarding image stabilisation, individual lenses featuring image stabilisation can fine tune and tweak to become more effective when compared to generic in-camera stabilisation. Lens stabilisation features some of the following attributes:

- Active mode feature for moving targets such as car or boat

- Automatic detection of movement type

- Automatically enables and disables image stabilisation when mounted

- Customisation possible when programmed by the firmware

- More effective on long telephoto/super telephoto lenses

- More effective on capturing images under low-light conditions

- More accurate results in low-light scenes

- Works with film cameras

3. Compatible with Android and iOS Devices

Sony's new SmartShot camera lenses are compatible with all Android and iOS devices via PlayMemories Application through Wi-Fi or NFC connectivity. PlayMemories app allows a user to connect with the Sony camera using built-in Wi-Fi connection to a smartphone or tablet device to transfer photos or remotely control the camera.

PlayMemories is available for download on both Apple iTunes and Google Play Store.

4. High-Video Resolution Capture

SmartShot lenses are capable of recording videos in high definition with 1080 resolution at 30 frames per second on mp4 video format. In addition, SmartShot lenses can even record videos in dark places with low noise factor.

5. Special Saving Feature

Sony has an enabled special saving of SmartShot lenses on your mobile device. Captured images are automatically saved in both smartphone and memory in the camera.

6. Control the SmartShot Lens

SmartShot can be configured and controlled by its user including zoom, exposure, white balance and focus on your mobile device as if doing using a real camera.

7. QX10 Specifications

The QX10 has the same 1/2.3-inch 18-megapixel CMOS sensor and f/3, 3-5.9 lens as the Sony WX150. QX10 will be priced at $250 each.

8. QX100 Specifications

The QX100 will cost around $400 each which is less than the price of RX100MII camera sold at $748 on Amazon that features the same sensor and lens.
