Sony Teaser Video Hints What’s to Come this Oct. 5
A teaser video released by Sony on their official Youtube channel has everyone speculating on what is to come. The video itself is filled with cameos of different game items and references.
The video opens with a soldier parachuting into a forest which might be a reference to Resistance: Fall of Man. They trek through the forest into a bar where the Ice Cream Truck from the Twisted Metal series. Inside the tavern we see the a miniature Metal Gear from the Metal Gear Solid series roll away behind the dog. The ticket girl in the counter with a Playstation logo at the top has a Parappa the Rappa pictures with her pinned on the walls. The soldier pays for entry or maybe tips the woman while a blue orb from Little Big Planet is shown. Both of the soldiers stores their weapons along with other weapons and items shown from different games like Lightning's sword from Final Fantasy XII and the goggles in the Splinter Cell series. The video ends with the two entering to what seems to be a bar and a sudden screen displaying the date "10.5.22" with Kratos from the God of War series is shown briefly.
The video itself hints on something to do with the whole Playstation product line. Its setting, a bar, might indicate that it would have something to do with networking, thus the PSN. But there is something like that now in the PSN called Playstation Home. This might also have something to do with the upcoming Playstation Vita. It might also hint to some games going exclusive to the PSN. Some have also speculated in some kind of new game which involves all these characters in a Super Mario Brawlesque type of game. We know Solid Snake did it before.
We must also consider some other recent game news like the change in Sony's EULA with the PSN, in which the users cannot form a class action suit against them. A move followed by EA's Origin service. What would the implications bring?
With many online offerings now being given free with additional content being sold, we might see some co-op games like Twisted Metal go free. Whatever it is, when it comes Playstation fans would liken it to the second coming while other would just shrug and say "lol Sony." Enjoy the video itself below.
