Android 4.1 Jelly Bean OS is the final OS version for Sony Xperia E and Xperia E Dual. It is now under the list of several Xperia smartphones which have reached end of life cycle in 2014.

Sony Mobile confirmed the final Android OS version of the 2013 Xperia E and Xperia E Dual smartphones. According to the official software support Web pages of the two smartphones, users will only be able to get the firmware build version 11.3.A.3.1 running Android 4.1 Jelly Bean.
Within the entire 18 months of life cycle, Xperia E only ran Android 4.1 Jelly Bean while its dual-SIM variant was released initially with Android 4.0.4 Ice Cream Sandwich then received Android 4.1 update in April of 2013. There is no definitive reason from Sony Mobile on why these smartphones never made it to Android 4.3 Jelly Bean OS.
