Sony Xperia Play Gets Android ICS Update
Sony recently announced that users of Sony Xperia Play can now update their device's OS to the latest Android version which is Android 4.0 or better known as Android ICS (Ice Cream Sandwich).
The release of the official beta version of Android 4.0 or Android ICS is in line with Sony's promise to their users that they would be able to utilize the newest version of Android OS in their devices. Aside from Sony Xperia Play, Sony also released a beta version of Android ICS to their other gadgets such as Xperia Neo V, Neo V, and Arc S. The company also mentioned that there were a lot of requests for the Android update for Xperia Play which is the reason they decided to provide it as soon as it was available.
The official beta version of the Android 4.0 is available for users who have already an unlocked Sony Xperia Play. Users who are interested in downloading this update should first read the disclaimer in order to be properly informed regarding this update. Here is an excerpt from the disclaimer:
You must unlock your phone using our Unlock boot loader service, and agree to all the legal and warranty conditions that apply. Please note that you may void the warranty of your phone, any warranty from your operator or both if you unlock the boot loader of your phone. Sony Mobile can then no longer guarantee the full functionality of your phone, and will not be responsible for any unusable functions or loss of personal data associated to the beta ROM being flashed to the phone.

The Sony Xperia Play is a handheld game console smartphone that is offered by Sony. It has both the functions of a quality game console as well as the features of a high-powered smartphone. It was first launched with Android 2.3 Gingerbread alongside the promise of the Android ICS update. The Sony Xperia Play weighs around 175 grams and has a dimension of 119.0 × 62.0 × 16.0 mm.
