Sony Xperia SL, Acro S New Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean Firmware Released; Pre-rooted Version with CWM Available!
New Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean firmware update has been released for Sony Xperia SL and Acro S, featuring a number of bug fixes for both devices.
Sony Xperia SL & Acro S Android 4.1.2 New Update
Sony released a new update with build number 6.2.B.0.211 and believed to have numerous bug fixes for both Xperia SL and Acro S. It features Android 4.1.2. Jelly Bean OS and is currently being rolled out to Middle East and Russia. Soon, other regions will receive the update as Sony releases it gradually.

Pre-rooted Firmware with ClockworkMod Recovery
XDA developer member DooMLoRD posted a pre-rooted firmware version of the Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean 6.2.B.0.211 ROM with a ClockworkMod recovery. According to his post, the firmware can be flashed to both LOCKED and UNLOCKED boot loader, using stock or custom recovery.
Be reminded never to flash the ROM to any other devices, except for Xperia S LT26i and Xperia SL LT26ii and it will restore the device to its factory settings, wipe all data and cache partitions.
Requirements:
- Sony Xperia S or SL with locked or unlocked boot loader
- Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich stock ROM with .45/.50/.55 build number or Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean with .200 build number
- Any existing recovery on your phone
Installation Procedure:
1. Download the ROM made by DooMLoRd and save it to your computer.
2. Copy and paste it to the SD Card of your phone.
3. Make sure that the /system partition is unmounted.
4. Select the ROM/ZIP you have copied on the SD card and install it.
5. Go back to the main menu of the recovery menu and reboot the system.
6. The phone will reboot automatically and may take a few minutes, do not interrupt the boot.
7. During reboots you may see a "flashing firmware screen", let it proceed. Never disrupt the process.
