Sony Xperia Z: Brand New Quick and Easy Photo Capturing App for Underwater Shots!
Sony Xperia Z can withstand water spills, splashes and even submerging in a swimming pool which makes it cool when taking images or videos underwater. However, the UI seems to go frantic if the user touches them. An XDA developer created a quick and easy app to capture images without the annoying factor.
Aqua Z Camera
XDA developer member AGGevorgyan created this application which is designed only for Sony Xperia Z smartphone to capture images underwater without the hassle of UI interference that normally happens on the camera app when submerged. Aqua Z Camera uses the proximity sensor instead to take shots with a simple tap of your fingers.
App Features:
- Proximity sensor enabled
- Resolution change option
- Auto-focus enabled
- Auto-white balance enabled
- Flash switch on, auto or off
- Front and back camera switching
- Colour effects
- Sensor sensitivity selection
- No zoom function
Aqua Z has the current version of 0.3.1 with bug fixes such as default flash mode set to auto and using of back camera mode UI settings in the front camera.
System Requirements:
- Sony Xperia Z smartphone ONLY
- Android version: 4.1 Jelly Bean or higher
- Size: 77 kb
- Installation: Free
According to the developer, it is best to install the application via Google Play to get regular updates online. If you do not wish to download the app from the Android official store, you can get it from the XDA Developers original thread including the older versions of Aqua Z Camera.
It is still unknown if the developer plans to update and optimise Aqua Z Camera app for other smartphones under the Xperia Z series. Other users who downloaded the app consider auto-rotate ability and maybe a "Small app" version.
