The market previously only offered a limited number of tablet-sized smartphones. Gone are those days as companies like Asus and Sony reveal their plans about releasing phablets some time soon. Specifically, Sony will introduce Xperia Z Ultra whereas Asus will release the Fonepad Note FHD 6.

Sony Xperia Z Ultra has been making such a buzz but another device is gaining attention, the Asus Fonepad Note FHD. The device is similar to the Asus Fonepad only it features a 6-inch display plus a stylus. Sony offers dust and waterproof features previously spotted on the Xperia Z.

Display

The Xperia Z ultra has a 6.44-inch Full HD Capacitive touchscreen display. This provides a pixel density of about 344ppi. The Asus Fonepad, on the other hand, offers a 6-inch Full HD Super IPS+ LCD capacitive touchscreen display. Pixel density goes about 367ppi.

Processor and RAM

Sony will feature a quad core Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor running at 2.2GHz. It also has an Adreno 330 GPU for the graphics and 2GB of RAM. Asus will go for a dual core Intel Atom Z2560 processor running at 1.6GHz. It has a PowerVR SGX544MP2 GPU and around 2GB of RAM.

Storage

Asus offers two variations for the Fonepad: 8GB or 16GB. Users can also expand the memory up to 64GB through a microSD. Xperia Z Ultra, on the other hand, will come in 16GB variant. Memory is expandable up to 64GB through microSD.

Cameras

Sony will include an 8-megapixel rear camera and a 2-megapixel front camera. Sony's camera allows users to capture 1080p video. Asus has a similar rear camera although the front camera shoots at 1.2 megapixels. Asus can only shoot 720p video.

Once available, both devices will run on Android 4.2 Jelly Bean.
