The rumour mills are churning online about the specs of the Sony Xperia Z2. The Xperia UL has been announced for launch in Japan with more countries expected to join later. Sony is planning to launch a whole set of new smartphones in the coming months, will 2014 push the profits up for the company?

Battery

The Sony Xperia Z2 is expected to be launched at the Mobile World Congress 2014. The event will be held in Barcelona between Feb 24 and 27. Many of the other smartphone manufacturers are expected to launch their devices at the event.

The Xperia UL is currently available only in Japan, but if the phone is a success it may be launched in other markets in Asia and Oceania.

There have been a few sceptics about the possible launch of the Xperia Z2 so close to the heels to the launch of the Xperia Z1. If the device is launched as expected Sony could be seen as a company that brings innovation to the markets faster. This would mean shorter shelf life for the company's smartphones as new devices take their place faster.
