Several users of Sony Xperia Z3 and Xperia Z3 Compact have reported a "Pink Spot" issue on the devices' rear camera lens. Some users who experienced the problem noticed that the pink spots are common in tweaked white balance and exposure and low light scenarios.

Pink Spots On The Sony Xperia Z3 And Xperia Z3 Compact

The famous 20.7 MP Sony G lens on the Sony Xperia Z3 and Xperia Z3 Compact has been found to suffer from an issue called Pink Spot. Users who encountered the problem noted that the issue occurs when the white balance and exposure are tweaked or when capturing images under low light conditions.

According to the official forum of Sony Mobile, there is no exact explanation yet on what causes the spots. Some even claim that the problem is not new since it has also been found on other devices such as Xperia S while using flash. Camera Issues On Flagship Xperia Smartphones

This is not the first time Sony Xperia Z flagship smartphones have been plagued with camera problems. Here are the issues reported on the rear camera lens of Xperia Z, Xperia Z1, Xperia Z1 Compact and Xperia Z2 smartphones.

1. Sony Xperia Z users reported a camera error text: "Error: Camera is not available." This can be resolved by clearing the data on the camera app inside the Settings menu.

2. Overheating on the Sony Xperia Z1 reported by users can affect the performance of the camera app. During such, a text error is displayed: "Camera is temporarily unavailable due to high temperature. Please wait for your device to cool down before you can use the camera".

3. The camera on the mini version of Xperia Z1, Xperia Z1 Compact, sometimes freezes without an exact cause. Some users have experienced the problem during video recording.

4. Sony Xperia Z2 users reported overheating issues when recording videos at 4K resolution. 4K video recording apparently consumes a lot of processing that causes overheating on the camera lens.
