Sony is launching their first phablet and successor of the Xperia Z called Xperia ZU which features waterproof and dust-proof capabilities.

Under the codename "Togari", Sony hints a more exciting prospect with their very first phablet device. Not only is it more than 6 inches, but also waterproof and dust-proof certified.

Sony "Togari is boasting 6.44 inches of screen display with 1920 x 1080 HD display, similar design with Xperia Z and possibly will have white or black exterior. It is a rumoured phablet which will take on the Samsung Galaxy Note 3.

Sony Xperia ZU

The outrageous huge phablet device having both waterproof and dust-proof features is also packed with heavy hardware on board for fast and mega performance.

Triluminos with X-Reality Display

Triluminos Display technology is part of Sony's television display which will be added to the Xperia ZU. It features true colour reproduction, natural shades of colours and lifelike skin tones. The technology works by using an "intelligent backlit technology" and reproduced more tones & textures compared than standard LED backlighting.

X-Reality PRO

Another feature included to the Xperia ZU display is the X-Reality Pro which adds an extra dimension of image clarity to everything you watch. The technology commonly found on Sony televisions which naturally enhances even the weakest signals on the screen. Once applied to the Xperia ZU, it gives more vivid and true-to-life detail, no blur and real colour display, reduced noise and image interference and full HD appearance of all your movies.

EXMOR RS Camera

The first commercialised stacked CMOS image sensor by Sony compacted to mobile device. It delivers new imaging modules to deliver high picture quality, back-illuminated image sensors and effective even against low-light environment such as a dark room. It also features wide dynamic range and brilliant colour output under bright light.

Release Date

Currently, the phablet is under development and the company is also adding a new type of touch screen sensor which works with stylus, pencil or anything similar. Sony Xperia ZU hasn't been confirmed if it's going to be released at the same launching of the Galaxy Note 3.
