Sony’s online gaming service PSN is down for almost everyone around the world
The PlayStation Network is down for many users around the world and Sony Computer Entertainment America has confirmed that it is working to solve the issues. The PSN outage is causing problems for PS3 and PS4 users as they are not able to access any part of PSN services. These include account management, PlayStation Store, PlayStation Music, PlayStation Now and PlayStation Gaming and Social.
Sony PlayStation has updated its status page which confirmed the PlayStation network outage for a number of services. The players are not able to load up multiplayer games and the issues are even causing problems in launching Hulu and Netflix.
Multiplayer sessions for games like “Call of Duty: Black Ops III” and “Destiny: The Taken King” are all on a standstill for both PS4 and PS3 players. As stated on the PlayStation Support website, the players are also facing account login issues, meaning players may also face problems with single-player titles like “Assassin’s Creed: Syndicate” and “Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain.”
“You may have some difficulty launching games, applications, or online features. Our engineers are working to resolve the issue as soon as possible, and we thank you for your patience,” the company confirmed on its official PlayStation status page.
Another notice can be seen on the website saying the services of PlayStation Network are currently under maintenance and users may be experiencing issues. According to the large number of complaints on social media sites including Twitter, this downtime is affecting many PS3 and PS4 users around the world.
This is the first big outage of the year for either Sony’s PlayStation Network or Microsoft’s Xbox Live. Both services did not experience any significant problem during the Christmas holidays even after receiving threats from hackers.
