JK Rowling, the author of the "Harry Potter" books, has brought in fresh revelations about the magical universe. Continuing with the titbits, Rowling apologised on Sunday for killing off Fred Weasley, one of the popular characters in the series. Her tweet apologising for the killing has brought in reactions from the muggle world.

Harry Potter franchise had catapulted JK Rowling to the top of the literary world. Her subsequent forays into writing with “Casual Vacancy” has not matched the frenzy the wizard boy had created. Rowling has continuously dropped hints about her characters, like the fact that Dumbledore was gay or that Hermione was better suited to Harry than Ron. All her revelations have brought in bricks and bouquets in equal measure from the fans who have loved the movies and books alike. But today's tweet has brought in hilarious reactions from the fans. Many asked her about other deaths like that of Tonks, Snape and Dobby, to count a few. Rowling replied “I might apologise for one death per anniversary, Fred was the worse and therefore started with him.”

Fred Weasley was one of Harry's popular supporters who used their intellect to create humour. The Weasley twins were the troublemakers in school but could be likened to the worldly jocks who are popular within school for their athletic prowess and business acumen. According to Mirror, Rowling's tweet immediately clocked up 51,000 likes and 47,000 re-tweets along with witty retorts and memes across the cyberspace.

Harry Potter books portray a fictional wizard world and have been turned into a popular movie franchise. The movies made over USD10 billion [$128 billion] worldwide and made stars out of Daniel Radcliffe, Rupert Grint and Emma Watson, who played Harry Potter, Ron Weasley and Hermione Granger respectively. The franchise has also helped in creating tourist attractions, like the Hogwarts tour, and has become popular around the world.
