South Korean police say crucified man was a suicide
The police in South Korea has ruled that the death of a taxi driver who was crucified on a wooden cross in an apparent recreation of the crucifixion of Jesus Christ was a suicide.
Police found the body of the 58-year-old South Korean taxi driver on May 1 in an abandoned stone quarry, south of the country. The man was crucified with his hands and feet nailed to the cross. A crown of thorns on his head completes the recreation of Jesus' death.
On Wednesday, the police said the death is mostly likely a suicide as they found evidence to support the theory.
They say they found notes allegedly from the man detailing his crucifixion plan.
Authorities say the man nailed his feet to the cross then tied his neck to it before stabbing himself on the side.
He was also believed to have drilled holes in his hands so he can slip them over the nails on the cross.
