Brazilian football prodigy Neymar is getting impatient with the current status of fellow gunner Lionel Messi as he hopes for the quick recovery of the Barcelona superstar.

Messi, the four-time FIFA Player of the Year winner, is expected to be sidelined until January after suffering a thigh muscle (left femoral biceps) in Barcelona's Spanish La Liga match against Real Betis.

Barcelona has already released the timetable of Messi rehabilitation in Argentina to tone down speculation of possible long term injury for the prolific goal-scorer.

"The first stage of his recovery now complete, Leo Messi will be flying to Argentina on Friday, as scheduled, for the second phase of the process under supervision of the Club Medical Services."

"Dr Ricard Pruna and physical trainer Elvio Paulorroso will be travelling to Argentina in mid-December to oversee the final stages of his recuperation. The latest tests on the player have shown that the recovery programme is going to plan," Barcelona released on its official website.

Neymar Growing impatient

Neymar is hopeful Messi can make his return from injury to give them a much needed boost this season. Barcelona lost to Ajax 2-1 in their UEFA Champions League group campaign, prompting fears that Barca is in the verge of collapse without Messi after starting the season on a high note.

The Brazilian shared the current status of the team playing without their main scoring threat along with his relationship with first-year head coach Gerardo Martino, in an interview with Mundo Leo on the DXTV network in Argentina via ESPN FC,

"The team is sad because Leo is one of the basic parts of this team. We know that he can change a game in our favour at any moment", he said. "I hope he recovers and starts playing again as soon as possible."

"He's [Martino] a great coach and a wonderful person." he said. "He asks of me the same that he asks of every other player. How to mark and how to move around. He gives us total freedom."

Neymar's impatience to have Messi back on the field is very visible, though he remains confident other players such as Xavi and Andres Iniesta would step up. The youngster added that playing for Barcelona has always been his dream.

"I have always admired FC Barcelona, ever since the days of Ronaldinho, and even more so now that I am playing alongside Messi, Xavi and Iniesta", he said. "I had always dreamed of playing with such stars as them, to train with them, to share a dressing room with them ... Being there is like being in another world," said Neymar.
