Special Version of Intel Haswell Chips Will Power Next MacBook, Apple Retina Display Macbook Pro to Arrive in October
Intel Inc. (INTC) and Apple (APPLP) will join together to release the next line of Macbook Pros, according to reports. Intel's next powerful Haswell chips will power up Apple's latest line of Retina Macbook Pros set to hit stores in October.
MacRumors and Apple Insider have already reported about Apple's plans on using a "special" version of Intel's Haswell to run their next line of MacBook Pros. The rumored chip is the premium GT3e Iris Pro 5200 GPU. Apple will also be including the retina feature in their newest laptop offering.
According to the reports, Intel has also made the top-of-the-line integrated graphics processors exclusive to Apple. If this is true then Apple's Retina MacBook will feature a unique hardware. An inclusive chip and computing performance will put the company ahead of the competition.
"Apple has somehow convinced Intel to give them a unique part for the next MacBook Pro, something that no one else will get. Not only that, this ultra-high performance part is something no one else can get for technical reasons," SemiAccurate released in a statement.
So far, SemiAccurate has both hits and misses regarding industry predictions. Whether or not the new MacBook Pro will roll out with Intel's Haswell will depend on the tech giant's announcement. It is important to note Apple already released a line of Haswell-powered laptops last June.
China Times also reported about new MacBook Pros with Retina displays to ship this October.
The details were published this week by China Times, and highlighted by Macotakara on Friday. Ming-Chi Kuo of KGI Securities shared that he expects Haswell-based Retina Pros to come soon.
