The recent Sony Pictures hacking brought with it massive information leaks, from corporate emails to upcoming movies planned by Sony and Marvel ("The Amazing Spider-Man 3"). Unfortunately, it also leaked the script for the 24th installment to the James Bond series entitled "Spectre."

Initially, word got around that Christoph Waltz would be playing the main villain in "Bond 24." Then according to Collider it was reported that the actor would portray the role of Ernst Stavro Blofeld. When producers finally announced the official title of the installment as "Spectre," fans were ultimately led to believe that Waltz's role would be the head of the organization otherwise also known as SPECTRE (Special Executive for Counter-intelligence, Terrorism, Revenge and Extortion). However, per Screenrant the actor goes by the alias Oberhauser but labeled in the exec notes (not in the screenplay) as "Blofeld." With all the contradicting character names, it's only natural for fans of the James Bond series to wonder if Waltz would really be playing as the main villain and head of the titular organisation.

Thus, in an interview with Collider the actor himself cleared the confusion. While doing his promotional rounds for his new animation movie, Tim Burton's "Big Eyes," Christoph Waltz was asked whether his character would be the head of the SPECTRE.

"No. No. It's more interesting than that," the actor simply replied though somewhat hesitantly (see video below).

Somehow, the actor's succinct reply supposedly managed to confirm that he will neither be playing as Blofeld nor as Oberhauser. However, Collider assumed having SPECTRE would inadvertently mean there should also be a Blofeld in the movie.

While Christoph Waltz didn't reveal any further details regarding his character nor of the movie's plot, Collider claimed Silas Lesnick from ComingSoon.net supposed Monica Bellucci could be the main villain in "Spectre." The actress' character name, Sciarra, supposedly has a link to the organisation's origin. The word Sciarra is reportedly coined after a habitational name from Sciarra in Palermo province, Sicily, "named with a word denoting a volcanic area." SPECTRE allegedly operated out of a volcano so Bellucci's role could have a close link to the organisation.

Screenrant supposed Christoph Waltz was initially written as the main villain and head of the organisation. But since the script went through several revisions it could be during the third act rewrite that he was cast for another role. As for Monica Bellucci, the leaked script didn't reveal any hint to her character being the head of SPECTRE. She will reportedly play as the wife of someone James Bond had assassinated and whom he sleeps with somewhere in the first two acts of the film.
