'Spider-Man ' Film: Felicity Jones Reveals There Are 'No Plans' But She Will Love To Play Black Cat
Felicity Jones who played Black Cat in "The Amazing Spider-Man 2" recently revealed in an interview that she would love to reprise her role in the future "Spider-Man" films. However, she added that there is no discussion in this regard. The actress who has been nominated for the Academy Award for her role in "The Theory of Everything" shared her thoughts about playing Black Cat during Critics Choice Movie Awards' red carpet event.
"Well, she's such a great character in the comics. I mean, if that happened, that would be lovely. There are no plans, but I'd love to play her," she revealed to Clevver Movies. Jones character of Black Cat also known, as Felicia Hardy was Norman's assistant at Oscrop in "The Amazing Spider-Man 2." She later joins Harry Osborne and starts assisting him. In Marvel Comics, Black Cat is supervillian who is a daughter of famous cat burglar. She trains herself in various fighting styles and acrobatics after undergoing a traumatic event in the college. She later decides to follow her father's legacy and accepts her identity has Black Cat.
It is still not known whether Sony is planning to go ahead with the "Amazing Spider-Man series." According to Screen Rant, the studio is reportedly not keen to produce "Amazing Spider-Man 3," as the previous instalment was not a financial success. So Black Cat may feature in the "Sinister Six" movie which is planned for 2016 release. The film is being directed by Drew Goddard and is going to feature the supervillains of Spider-Man universe. Black Cat being one of the villains could appear in the film. Chris Cooper and Michael Massee have been confirmed for the roles in the film. The film has been written by Steve Ditko and Drew Goddard.
Meanwhile, with Jones expressing the interest to play the character, she could also have a Black Cat standalone movie as reported by the website. It should be known that at the moment nothing is confirmed in regard to Black Cat's re-introduction in the upcoming Sony films. It is also not confirmed whether Sony plans to make "The Amazing Spider-Man 3."
