Spider-Man In Marvel Universe: Find Out Which Two Actors Are ‘Being Considered’ To Replace Andrew Garfield
Spider-Man is going to be a part of Marvel Cinematic Universe under the deal with Sony. Fans can anticipate lots of new changes and surprises. Meanwhile, it is said Andrew Garfield will no longer be playing the role of Spider-Man and the studio will be casting a new actor. According to a report, Hollywood actors Logan Lerman and Dylan O’Brien are being eyed for the role.
Variety broke the news on Feb 10, 2015. According to the aforementioned entertainment news publication, Sony is looking for a younger actor to play the role. Among many other names, actors Dylan O’Brien and Logan Lerman are already “being considered.”
For those unfamiliar, Logan Lerman is a 23-year-old actor who played the titular role in fantasy-adventure franchise “Percy Jackson.” Some other notable works of the young actor, includes “The Butterfly Effect,” “The Perks of Being a Wallflower,” “Noah” and “Fury.” He has also earned several nominations for his work in the aforementioned movies.
As for Dylan O’Brien, is 23-year-old actor who is known for his work in the MTV series “Teen Wolf.” He has also appeared in the movies “The First Time” and “The Maze Runner.” He is the recipient of Young Hollywood Award and Teen Choice Award.
It is noted that these actors are “yet to be approached.” The studio is not only replacing “The Amazing Spider-Man” actor Andrew Garfield but also the director Marc Webb. Further, the studio is yet to decide whether they want to continue with Peter Parker or “introduce another character that suits up as Spider-Man,” such as Miles Morales. With the younger Spider-Man, the studio reportedly plans “to spend more time in the setting and explore his awkward relationship with other students while fighting crime out of the classroom.”
Meanwhile, it is being reported that the decision of replacing Andrew Garfield was taken after some discussion. A source told The Daily Beast that the actor had discussions about his involvement in future Spider-Man movies by Marvel. However, it “didn’t make sense” to keep him for what is said to be a “new chapter” for Spider-Man.
Watch out for the new Spider-Man as he reportedly makes his first appearance in Marvel Cinematic Universe in “Captain America: Civil War” releasing on April 6, 2016. It will be followed by Spider-Man’s solo adventure in a stand-alone movie scheduled to hit the theatres on July 28, 2017.
