Emma Stone is thrilled about the romance between the characters Gwen Stacy and Peter Parker in upcoming film "The Amazing Spider-Man." The actress revealed that the relationship between the two attracted her to the role in the forthcoming prequel which stars Andrew Garfield as the webbed superhero. The Amazing Spider-Man will be released in 2012.

"I was drawn to that part, because I really liked what happens between Gwen and Peter. So I'm excited about that," she said. "And I think Andrew is incredible so that was really wonderful for me," Stone further added. Emma, who also stars alongside Ryan Gosling, Steve Carell and Julianne Moore in Crazy Stupid Love, tried to shrug off expectations for the movie. "It's really interesting to be a part of something that so many people hold close to their hearts and that so many people grew up with," she continued.

"I don't know what people are expecting from Spider-Man. We'll have to see. But when you are part of a movie that has a fan base already built in, it feels like everyone's read the script which is rare. They come in with these expectations. You just hope that they'll be happy with the way the story was told and the way it was translated to the screen," she further added.

On the other hand, Andrew shared his feelings for his co-star. "She's the best. She's very talented and I knew that going in. I didn't know how nice she was going to be and how funny and how sweet and how generous she was going to be as a human being. She's the kind of girl who brings cupcakes in for the crew and doesn't tell them that they are from her. She really wanted to get under the skin of the character and make something authentic and real. She's playful and fun and silly and constantly helped me to stay in a place where I didn't take things too seriously. That's important for me because I'm pretty serious as a person. It gets on my nerves how serious I can be. So she was a real gift," the actor stated in an interview with the LA Times.

There was more than just a love story on the set of the "The Amazing Spider-Man." Us Weekly says that a real-life romance has quietly blossomed between the on-screen lovebirds Andrew Garfield and Emma Stone where the two got close during filming. According to Us Weekly, sparks flew between Andrew and Emma at the June 5 MTV Movie Awards. They reportedly flirted all night with the close proximity of their seats. It was also reported that Stone even squealed when she spotted Garfield at the after party where they had a 20-minute conversation. Of course, Andrew and Emma are hardly the first co-stars to find love off-screen. From Bogart and Bacall to Taylor and Burton to Brad and Angelina, the on-set hookup is a Hollywood tradition.
