With just a few months to go before the Splendour in the Grass 2014 musical event, organizers and musical enthusiasts alike have already set the web in frenzy. With so much hype going on over the event, here are some facts that you should know:

Splendour in the Grass 2014: Date and Venue

This year's three day musical bonanza will be held from Friday to Sunday on July 25 to 27 at Byron North Parklands. This stunning 660 acre property is now the permanent home of the yearly event after it secured a government approval to operate cultural event for a trial period of five years.

Prior to its permanent home, Splendour of the Grass had mostly been held in Belongil Fields since it started in 2001 with just one festival held in Woodfordia. For 14 years, Byron Shire had played the central role in the event venue.

LineUp

The lineup of performers was already announced on April 23 with three new artists added on the list. Over 80 local and international performers have confirmed to set the event ablaze for this year's Splendour of the Grass festival.

For the Friday event, the lineup includes Outkast, Interpol, Childish Gambino, Angus and Julia Stone, London Grammar, Kelis, Hoodoo Gurus, Asgier, Spiderbait, Ball Park Music, Burak Som Sistema, The Preatures, Peking Duck, DZ Deathrays, The Strypes, The Kite String Tangle, The Acid, Saskwatch, The Head and the Heart, DMA's, Fractures, Darlia, Tkay Maidza, Yacht Club DJS, Wordlife, Indian Summer, Kilter,and Charles Murdock.

Performers for the Saturday event includes Two Door Cinema Club, City and Colour, Rüfüs, Vance Joy, Metronomy, The Jezabels, Tune-Yards, 360, Violent Soho, The 1975, Art Vs Science, Sticky Fingers, Sky Ferreira, Future Islands, Gossling, Hot Dub Time Machine, Ry-X, Wave Racer, Mas Ysa, Circa Wave, Dustin Tebbutt, Little May, Darren Middleton, Motez, Touch Sensitive, LDRU & Yahtzel DJS, Basenji, and Fishing DJS.

For the finale Sunday event, the lineup includes Lily Allen, Foster the People, Hilltop Hoods, Darkside, Ben Howard, Chvrches, Group Love, Wild Beasts, Danny Brown, Illy, First Aid Kit, Sam Smith, Parquet Courts, Courtney Barnett, Phantogram, Skaters, Jungle, Mikhael Pascale, Buraka Som Sistema, Kingswood, Broods, D.D Dumbo, Nick Mulvey, The Creases, The Wild Feathers, Chrome Sparks, Nina Las Vegas, Sable, Cosmo's Midnight, KLP, and Paces.

Tickets

Although the Splendour of the Grass 2014 is still three months away, the tickets will already go on sale Friday May 2 for the general public. The purchases can buy up to four tickets and choose among the event tickets, camping tickets, and optional carbon offset.

For the event ticket, single day passes costs $149 exclusive of booking fees while three day ticket costs $355 exclusive of booking fees. Meanwhile, five nights camping ticket costs $99 exclusive of booking fees. The optional carbon offset costs $3 per ticket which will go to the Climate Friendly to be invested n forest protection and renewable energy generation projects.
