The chief executive of music app Spotify, Daniel Ek, showed off the hack that allows him to control the app using Siri.

The new voice activation feature of Apple's Siri has given rise to various noted and impressive tweaks and hacks. In a recent interview with Forbes magazine, "The Most Important Man in Music" showed off that hack in controlling the Spotify app in his iPhone 4S.

According to Forbes, "He takes out his iPhone. Using its Siri voice software, he asks it when tomorrow's first appointment begins. After a few seconds the computerized voice says 11 a.m. 'Imagine if this was three times as fast or truly understood my intent,' Ek says. 'It's probably the biggest threat to Google; it's a whole new way of interacting.'

"Does he plan on building a voice activated Spotify interface? He flashes a mischievous smile. 'Play me some Coldplay,' he tells the phone. Its small speakers ring out with the opening piano chords of the band's hit 'The Scientist.' 'We hacked into it a few weeks ago,' Ek says, with a satisfied nod. 'I'm not an inventor. I just want to make things better.'"

The Spotify CEO is currently hailed as "The Most Important Man in Music" as he managed to make his small business grow and transformed it into a social media elite.

Apple can be expected to probe into how Spotify can invade the iOS device's feature.

Wikipedia, Yelp and Wolfram Alpha are currently working as third parties. It is still unclear when Apple will release an API for Siri that will allow companies to easily integrate their apps with the voice activation feature. But its current job postings show they are currently working on it.
