Sri Lankan Refugee Hangs by His Hair for 23 Minutes, Sets New World Record
A Sri Lankan living in Queensland set a new world record by becoming the first man to hang by his hair for 23 minutes and 24 seconds.
Suthakaran Sivagnanathurai, a 37-year-old Sri Lankan Tamil, achieved the feat on Sunday at the Uniting Church in Sherwood.
Sivagnanathurai said he felt pain while his lock of hair tied to a hang rig bore his 57-kilogramme weight. But he overcame the pain by meditating and by yoga, according to Siyalu.com, a Sri Lankan website on gossip, news and images. He has been practicising yoga for 27 years.
The Sri Lankan also attributed his strong hair to natural oil that he applies on it.
Sivagnanathurai had previously attempted to pull a stationary truck by his lock of hair in his home country.
