'Star Trek Discovery' season 2: Michael Burnham enters USS Enterprise
A first look picture of “Star Trek Discovery” season 2 has been released online. The picture shows the protagonist Michael Burnham (Sonequa Martin-Green) entering the USS Enterprise, the ship from the original TV series of the franchise.
Among the first look pictures posted on Entertainment Weekly, there is a picture of Michael entering the USS Enterprise. The presence of the ship was teased in the finale episode of the first season, in which the Discovery encountered the fabled ship.
According to a report by TrekMovie, the room that Michael is entering in the picture is actually Spock’s quarters. Martin-Green has teased that the plot of the next season will explore the family theme, which is a reference to the relation between Spock and Michael.
Michael is a human, raised in Vulcan by Spock’s parents. The next season is expected to explore her complicated roots. “A lot of questions are going to be raised; some are going to be answered,” Martin-Green teased.
Since the current TV series is a sort of prequel to the original “Star Trek” series, the captain of the USS Enterprise will be Pyke (Anson Mount) and not James T. Kirk.
Even though the USS Enterprise is being introduced on the show, the characters from this ship will not be taking over the TV series. The show continues to be about the Discovery and the life of Michael. The ship will be seen on route to pick up its new captain, and the encounter with the USS Enterprise is expected to be a short stopover.
There will also be other new characters that will be introduced in “Star Trek Discovery” season 2. One such new character is Linus , who is of the Saurian species. Martin-Green said that the fans have seen this species before, and is waiting to see if the fans will be able to tell where they have seen this species before.
