‘Star Wars 7’: Daisy Ridley, John Boyega In Battle, Endor Planet Hinted
"Star Wars: Episode VII" premieres on Dec. 18. 2015. Ahead of its much-anticipated release, few movie spoilers from set photos to supposed plot details have been leaked online for the past months. The recent reveal pertains to a battle scene that reportedly takes place at the planet of Endor.
Total-Geeks reports the casts and crew of "Star Wars: Episode VII" took to the Forest of Dean at the Puzzlewood location of the movie in Wales. A scene involving thousands of extras engaged in a woodland battle was reportedly filmed. A week-long production happened in the reported set, where Daisy Ridley, John Boyega, Pip Andersen and Adam Driver supposedly participated in the shoot. "I have it on good authority that the Puzzlewood shoot involved a full-scale battle which surrounded a pivotal fight scene with some of our main characters," writer Ryan Leston said.
Daisy Ridley and John Boyega's stunt doubles were spotted on the woodland set, hinting they were "in for quite a workout," according to Leston. Pip Anderson's involvement in the battle scene could have required his parkour skills.
Movie director J.J. Abrams and production crew booked a stay at the Celtic Manor Resort during the duration of the filming. They were reportedly shuttled back and forth to the Puzzlewood set. Leston claimed he even met the director on the luxury five-star hotel and posted a photo for confirmation. However, despite meeting the director, Abrams was reportedly tight-lipped on movie details.
Movieweb claims "Star Wars: Episode VII" may feature the planet of Endor again. Princess Leia, Han Solo and Luke Skywalker are speculated to return to the Ewoks' homeland. However, this is not the first time it's rumoured that Endor could be revisited. The Independent UK previously reported the Puzzlewood location on its July article.
Forest of Dean is said to be a perfect location to represent Yoda's place of refuge. However, during that time it wasn't confirmed yet if the casts and crew of "Star Wars: Episode VII" were indeed on the set. When dozens of trailers were spotted on location, few were quick to speculate it was for the movie production. Now fans have their confirmation from Ryan Leston that filming did indeed take place at the Forest of Dean.
