Another surprising "Star Wars: Episode VII" rumour has reached the grapevine and this time it involves action star Daniel Craig.

James Bond and Han Solo will join forces in the sci-fi film according to Mirror UK. A source claimed being friends with the movie director J.J. Abrams definitely has its perks. Daniel Craig and Abrams are said to be close friends that eventually landed him a role in the sci-fi movie.

The source allegedly told The Sun paper last Sunday, Sept. 14, that the actor himself wanted the role.

The insider said that Daniel asked for some sort of secret cameo role and that he was happy to have his name left off the posters.

A die-hard "Star Wars" fan, Craig reportedly begged J.J. Abrams to cast him. Metro UK adds that he had already filmed his scenes at the Pinewood Studios in secret for two days last week. However, it is still uncertain what character he will portray in "Star Wars: Episode VII." Likewise, he will reportedly be covered up in his costume in the film so his face will totally be hidden. Fans may find it hard to point him out from the rest of the casts.

"Fans will love playing the guessing game trying to work out which covered-up character is Daniel," the source added.

However, the "Skyfall" actor may have even fueled rumours concerning his involvement in the movie when he was spotted catching up with his friend Carrie Fisher at her dressing room. Carrie Fisher will reprise her role as Princess Leia in "Star Wars: Episode VII."

James Bond may not be the only iconic movie character who will venture into the galaxy of far far away. In jest, "The Hulk" star Mark Rufallo recently expressed his desire to also star in "Star Wars:Episode VIII."

According to Mirror, he sent an email to Rian Johnson and begged for a role.

"My email to Rian after all these years was, 'Rian, congratulations on everything you've been doing. And by the way, if there's a part in Star Wars, please, anything, please consider considering me to join you," he said.

"Star Wars: Episode VII" opens in the U.S. cinemas on Dec. 18, 2015.
