‘Star Wars 7’: Leaked Video Reveals A Shrine In Luke Skywalker's Cave Refuge
Despite the secrecy involved in the production of "Star Wars: Episode VII," another possible movie spoiler has reached the Internet. Leaked video footage from the filming on Skellig Michael Island supposedly revealed Luke Skywalker's refuge before he was discovered by Daisy Ridley and John Boyega's characters.
A video posted on YouTube showed fans where the Jedi Master has allegedly been residing since "Star Wars: Return of the Jedi." The authenticity of the footage still remains undetermined. However, it's believed to be real after it was quickly removed from the social site, according to Movieweb. A Walt Disney watermark is also seen in the middle of the leaked video. Additionally, Techno Buffalo claimed the YouTube account associated with the footage has also been closed, further confirming its authenticity.
Techno Buffalo managed to grab some screenshots of the images showing Luke Skywalker's refuge. The images show a man dressed in a Jedi cloak, kneeling in what seems to be a shrine inside a cave. There is also a shadow of another figure being cast on the cave's entryway.
Several shots also reveal the cloaked man traversing various landscapes of the rocky island. However, it's uncertain if the hooded figure in the leaked video is really the Jedi Master (Mark Hamill). His face was never revealed throughout the duration of the footage, although a portion of the man's beard is seen on the screen. The video could supposedly be a possible "test footage than final shots" for "Star Wars: Episode VII" based on its lighting and how the images were swiftly filmed. "It is shot on a cell phone looking at a computer screen, so the clarity is not the best," writer Sean P. Aune of Techno Buffalo said.
Movieweb claims the leaked video could also be a teaser trailer. However, it reportedly coincides with previous plot details about Daisy Ridley's character, who is rumoured to portray the role of Kira in the movie. In her search for Luke Skywalker, Ridley supposedly finds the Jedi on the rocky island. Furthermore, it's been speculated that the Skellig Michael location of "Star Wars: Episode VII" was not only used to represent the Jedi Master's refuge. The island was allegedly also used for the home planet of the Sith.
