'Star Wars' 7: Some Elements Will First Debut In The Animation Series
Some of the characters who will appear in "Star Wars" 7 maybe first seen in the animated series long before the movie is released. Some of the cities and vehicles featuring in the movie may also make their debut in the animation series.
The makers of the animated series "Star Wars: Rebels" reportedly know what is happening in the upcoming movie "Star Wars" 7. Speaking to Entertainment Weekly, Simon Kinberg, the executive producer of the animated series, confirmed some of the elements will first be seen in the animated series with lots of "set-ups and Easter eggs" for the fans of the franchise.
"Star Wars: Rebels" tells the story of how the rebellion began against the Empire. The animation series is set five years before the first movie of the original trilogy, in which Luke Skywalker joins the rebellion to take on the Empire and its super weapon, the Death Star.
The two main villains in the animation series are Agent Kallus and the Inquisitor. Five rebels, Zeb Orrelios, Hera Syndulla, Kanan Jarrus and Ezra Bridger, take on the powerful enemies and start a rebellion that will eventually engulf the galaxy.
The character of the Inquisitor is of particular importance. In the animation series, the Inquisitor has been tasked by Darth Vader to hunt down the remaining Jedi in the galaxy. Although the character wields a red lightsaber and looks intimidating, he is not a Sith. The character, however, does tap into the dark side of the force during combat.
If the new villain in "Star Wars" 7 is indeed a Sith Inqusitor, as some reported leaks suggest, then some background information about the character may be found in the animated series. Readers who have not seen the movies from the franchise should note the Inqusitor has not been featured in any of the movies. Fans of the franchise who have played the games, however, may be familiar with the institution of the Inquisition within the Sith empire.
A recently leaked image from "Star Wars" 7 shows a Sith Inqusitor holding the broken helmet of Darth Vader. The image posted on IndieRevolver shows a hooded cyborg with red eyes. The plot details and the actual villains in the movie have still not been revealed by the makers of the film, even though there have been multiple leaks from the sets of the movie.
