‘Star Wars' Anthology: Anthony Ingruber talks Han Solo casting

Anthony Ingruber is said to be the best actor to play Han Solo in the “Star Wars” Anthology film because of his uncanny resemblance to a young Harrison Ford. While casting for the iconic character in the film has not yet started, Ingruber has expressed his interest to take on the role during a recent interview.

In an exclusive interview with StarWars7news, Anthony talked about his love for “Star Wars” and whether he’s thought about taking over Ford’s role in the Han Solo origin film that’s due for release in May 2018. When asked to choose between Han Solo and Indiana Jones, Ingruber picked the iconic “Star Wars” character.

“I think I’m leaning more towards Han Solo, as what I’ve heard from the people working on it, it sounds like it will be a really great film,” he said.

Before landing his first major film role, Anthony became a YouTube sensation for his great impersonation of Harrison Ford. His skill eventually attracted the right people and he was offered to play the younger version of Ford in “Age of Adaline.” Now he’s expressed his intention to audition for the “Star Wars” Anthology film as Han Solo.

“The thing that attracts me to that is that there is very little known about Han Solo’s origin; he’s a complete mystery. He sort of swaggers onto the scene and does his thing, but nobody knows where he came from or how he and Chewbacca became friends. It leaves it very open to tell some interesting stories,” Anthony told StarWars7news when asked about his interest on the character.

A Facebook page calling for Ingruber to play young Han Solo in the “Star Wars” Anthology film already has over 1,000 likes. Apparently, even Ford himself saw potential in Anthony to be a great star one day, and he only had nice words to say about his doppelganger during an interview with Pop Sugar.

“He’s a very talented young actor. I think he’s great,” he said.
