With the death of the emperor, Darth Vader finally brought balance to the force. The time period between episode 6 and 7 would have been used by Luke to try and rebuild the Jedi order and bring about lasting peace in the galaxy.

But with the emperor gone and no senate to replace his authority who will the clone troopers and the rest of the army follow in "Star Wars" episode 7? There could be some power vacuum, which could have been filled by someone who is still loyal to the empire.

Luke Skywalker and Han Solo could be busy fighting the remaining forces that are still loyal to the empire. There has been some speculation that the son of Luke Skywalker will be a Jedi and later could turn to the dark side.

There is very remote possibility of this happening, as the love and attachment of Anakin Skywalker and Padme was one of the reasons for Anakin to turn to the dark side. That is why the Jedi are banned from marrying someone. Would Luke find a bride in "Star Wars" episode 7?

Fans who loved Darth Vader and who are yearning for a new dark lord of the Sith in "Star Wars" episode 7, may have to be a little patient. A dramatic re-entry of the Sith just after the balance is brought back to the force may not happen.

But "Star Wars" episode 7 without a Sith lord is a little difficult to imagine. The struggle of good against evil has been the hallmark of the movie franchise. Perhaps that is the reason why the movie may be set in a time period of 20 years after the events of the episode 6, allowing sufficient time for the evil to rise again.
