Will women play a lead role in the upcoming "Star Wars" episode 7 movie? So far men have taken the lead with Luke Skywalker as the hero in the original trilogy and Anakin Skywalker playing the lead role in the latest trilogy.

Fans were spell bound by the performance of princess Leia in the original trilogy and queen Amidala in the latest trilogy. Both the characters, however, played a supporting role in the movies, will that change this time around?

There have been casting rumours that producers of "Star Wars" episode 7 are looking for a lady who can handle a lightsaber, leading to speculation that either a female Jedi or Sith will feature in the movie.

If the casting rumours of Harrison Ford as Han Solo and other "Star Wars" movie veterans are true, then the new trilogy will focus on the life of the children of Princess Leia and her husband Han and the children of Luke Skywalker.

The original trilogy had the twin brother and sister fight the empire. The brother was a Jedi and the sister was a diplomat. Will the new "Star Wars" movie reverse the roles? A female Jedi could be quite a surprise for the fans.

Fans are wondering who could be the new Sith Lord in the upcoming movie. With the emperor, Darth Vader and Count Dooku dead, the movie will need to find a new name and new face of the Sith.

Many speculate that emperor Palpatine will make a return in spirit form in "Star Wars" episode 7. But who will he choose to turn to the dark side? Will it be a young Jedi like perhaps the son of Luke Skywalker? Or did he have another apprentice waiting in the shadows?

"Star Wars" fans who have been following the "Clone Wars" cartoon series will remember that the series featured an apprentice to Count Dooku, Asajj Ventress was the most feared Sith during the clone wars.

Ventress was shown to be not strong enough to take on the likes of Obi Wan Kenobi or Anakin Skywalker. If she is shown to have learnt the art of stopping death from her master, she could return as a very old Sith with tremendous knowledge of the force.

Master Yoda is said to have lived for hundreds of years and had extensive knowledge of the force. He returned in spirit form along with Anakin and Obi Wan, this made fans wonder why the Sith can't come back in spirit form.
