'Star Wars: Episode 8': Kylo Ren's costume update has original trilogy connection
Kylo Ren will get a costume upgrade in “Star Wars: Episode 8,” according to a new report. The new addition to his costume will have a connection to the original trilogy. The character could get his hands on an old artifact that is very dear to him personally.
[Spoiler alert]
Kylo Ren (Adam Driver) will continue his Darth Vader obsession in the next movie, according to a report by Making Star Wars. His costume will now reportedly include a cape that may have belonged to the Sith Lord.
The mask was the main focus of the costume of Kylo Ren in “The Force Awakens.” He will continue to wear the mask, but it is said to have gone through minor tweaks and revisions. His clothes, however, are a little different. The character is said to be wearing a black costume that is similar to the one Luke Skywalker (Mark Hamill) wore in “Return of the Jedi.”
Kylo Ren’s cape in “Star Wars: Episode 8” is said to resemble the one Darth Vader wore in “Empire Strikes Back” or “Return of the Jedi.” The cape, however, will not have a chain clasp.
The report notes that the canon novels have revealed how ancient artifacts were sold in the black market. Kylo Ren is already in possession of the mangled remains of Darth Vader’s helmet. So, it is possible that he may have now managed to acquire the cape as well.
However, the report notes that the cape could also be a replica that Kylo Ren made. The back story of the cape has not been revealed by the sources.
More details about Kylo Ren’s costume in “Star Wars: Episode 8” will be revealed soon by the fan site. Meanwhile, the fans can start to speculate on what the new addition could mean for the Darth Vader obsessed character and his motivations and powers.
