'Star Wars: Episode 8': 'The Last Jedi' sounds 'ominous' confirms Daisy Ridley; Questions remain on Rey
While the fans welcome the announcement of the title of “Star Wars: Episode 8” as “The Last Jedi,” it has raised many questions. One such concerned fan is Actor Josh Gad, who decided to press Daisy Ridley for some answers recently.
“The Last Jedi” is an obvious reference to Luke Skywalker (Mark Hamill), but the question that many fans have is – does this mean Rey will not be a Jedi? If she is powerful in the Force, and has met up with the old Jedi Master, it is logical that she will eventually become his apprentice. But, the title has confused some fans. Is there an unexpected twist in the tale?
Unable to take the torture that comes with thinking too much about the plot, Gad decided to invite Ridley (Rey) to his trailer. The two actors are currently filming “Murder on the Orient Express” together.
Gad posted a video [see below] of his interaction with Ridley. He admittedly invited the actress to his trailer on false pretences. His real objective was to get some juicy details about “Star Wars: Episode 8.”
Ridley was quick to notice the camera, and didn’t seem to like what Gad was up to. The actress did not want to reveal anything, but she did let it slip that the title does sound “ominous.” She neither confirmed nor denied that Rey is a Jedi, and also did not want to talk about how many Jedi remain in the galaxy.
In her best attempt to dodge more questions, Ridley pointed out that she can’t ask him about “Frozen 2.” Gad said that he can confirm that his character Olaf (the snowman in the first film) will be there in the upcoming animation movie. What the actress said next appears to have had the desired the effect and the questions stopped.
So, the “Star Wars: Episode 8” title is not as straightforward as it seems, if Ridley can’t even comment on it, and says that it is ominous. Will Luke Skywalker die in the film?
