'Star Wars: Episode 8': Leaked scene description of action sequence in space
A leaked scene description of “Star Wars: Episode 8” explains an action sequence that takes place in space. The scene was apparently shot in May in Pinewood Studios, and it involved a green screen extension and a CGI crowd.
[Spoiler alert]
The fan site Making Star Wars, which got most of the leaks right about “The Force Awakens,” has posted a new scene description about the upcoming movie. The scene reportedly involved burning embers, smoke and special effects of an explosion in a hanger.
A thermal detonator is apparently used in the scene by a group codenamed “The Grizzlies,” who may be Resistance fighters. They will take on another group that is codenamed “Sugar Cubes,” which is expected to be First Order soldiers.
The action sequences takes place in space, with one group entering the ship of another. It is not clear which group is entering the ship.
Another action sequence in “Star Wars: Episode 8” involved an explosion on a Resistance ship. The report speculates the scene involved Finn (John Boyega) and Kelly Marie Trans’s character. The name of Tran’s character hasn’t been revealed yet. According to the leaked scene description the character will be wearing a “medal.” A third character in this sequence is said to be a Resistance technician of some kind.
The three characters take on a squad of Stormtroopers who board their ship. Some of the props used in this scene were weapons of the Resistance soldiers, handcuffs, axes, mace and debris. The Resistance soldiers also got bombs attached to a belt.
The scene is said to be a big action sequence for “Star Wars: Episode 8.” 10 firemen were reportedly brought in on the set as a precaution. It should be noted that Harrison Ford (Han Solo) injured himself on the set of “The Force Awakens” and director J.J. Abrams injured his back, which led to a brief hiatus in the filming of that movie.
