'Star Wars: Episode 8': Mark Hamill tricks fans again; No Leia in finale
After promising a first look at “Star Wars: Episode 8,” Mark Hamill has tricked the fans yet again. Meanwhile, Lucasfilm has confirmed that they are not planning on digitally creating Carrie Fisher for the final movie in the trilogy, which means that there won’t be a Leia in the film.
Hamill (Luke Skywalker) had previously said that he would reveal a first look of the upcoming movie on his Pop Culture Quest show. Some fans were excited because the actor’s character had absolutely no dialogues in “The Force Awakens.” The fans who know him as The Trickster, were wary of another prank.
The picture released on the Pop Culture Quest, which was supposed to be of Rian Johnson’s film, turned out to be a bunny in Jedi robes. Hamill also confirmed that this was another one of his “shameless” attempts to trick the fans into watching his show.

The producers are yet to reveal the title of “Star Wars: Episode 8.” The first trailer of the film is expected to be released at the Celebrations event in April. A teaser may be released just before that to help build anticipation among the fans.
Meanwhile, Lucasfilm has addressed concerns about digitally creating Fisher for “Star Wars: Episode 9.” The actress was supposed to be a part of the film, but her tragic passing led to the studio making some changes. The company announced that they are still hurting from the loss of the actress, who played a princess and a general, but is more importantly a friend.
Lucasfilm said that they will cherish her memory and legacy, and will honour everything she has done for the franchise. The company confirmed that they will not be creating a digital Leia for her scenes in the final film in the new trilogy.
Fisher completed her obligations for “Star Wars: Episode 8.” This will be the last movie from the franchise that the actress will be a part of. The movie is currently in the post production phase of development.
