'Star Wars: Episode 8' production update: Daisy Ridley and Adam Driver spotted in Malin Head
“Star Wars: Episode 8” cast members Daisy Ridley and Adam Driver were spotted in Belfast, just before filming in Malin Head is about to begin. Pictures from the new filming location have leaked online, showing the fans what the production crew is busy building.
Some of the cast members have already reached Malin Head, BBC reports. However, the fans seem more interested at what the crew is building on the edge of a cliff. The construct is about 50 feet across and 10 feet in height. The round construct has many wondering it is the Millennium Falcon they are building.
Rey (Daisy Ridley) was last seen piloting the Millennium Falcon to planet Ahch-To. Since there is no time gap between “The Force Awakens” and the sequel, the presence of Ridley suggests that the crew may be building the iconic space ship for a scene.
Access to the filming location has been blocked as the cast members start filming their scenes this weekend. Irish Aviation Authority has also implemented no-fly zones in some of the key locations in the country to facilitate the smooth filming of “Star Wars: Episode 8.”
That, however, has not stopped fans from flocking to the filming location to get a glimpse of the cast and the production sets. The fans have not been able to get too close to the set and can only observe what is going on from a distance.
According to a report by Belfast Telegraph , one of the biggest and most notable stars of the movie is will soon be reaching the filming location. Filming at Malin Head will reportedly last for months.
“Star Wars: Episode 8” is being directed Rian Johnson, who has been sharing production updates online from time to time. The movie is slated to be released on Dec. 15, 2017 in Australia.
