'Star Wars: Episode 8': Romance between Rey and Finn; Rey's father may be Luke
In a recent interview, cast member John Boyega revealed that there may be some romance between his character Finn and Rey in “Star Wars: Episode 8.” Meanwhile, music composer John William talked about Luke possibly being the father of Rey.
Finn (John Boyega) and Rey (Daisy Ridley) grew close to each other in “The Force Awakens.” In an interview with Variety, Boyega said that the two characters were only friends in that movie, but that may change soon.
Boyega pointed out that Finn used to be a Stormtrooper, so in terms of his relationship with Rey he didn’t know what was going on. The romance between the two characters is going to be “interesting” in the next movie, he said. He later teased that the romance may not “go the way you think it’s going to go.”
The actor revealed that the next movie was going to be “darker” and “bigger” than “The Force Awakens.” The actor also complemented the new director Rian Johnson and said that he was “great.”
One big question that fans hope “Star Wars: Episode 8” will answer relates to the parentage of Rey. Music composer Williams, who will be returning to compose for Johnson’s movie, believes that Luke Skywalker (Mark Hamill) is Rey’s father, Indie Revolver reports. The music composer is not privy to the secret about Ridley’s character and said that he was only guessing.
Meanwhile, Oscar Isaac (Poe Dameron) told ET Online that his character will get to be more a part of the movie. He teased that all the characters in the movie will be tested “intensely.” The actor added that it is great that the movie also has a lot of conflict.
“Star Wars: Episode 8” will be introducing new characters. Benicio Del Toro and Laura Dern have joined the cast. Isaac said that the two actors are “incredible.” The producers have so far not revealed details about the characters the two new cast members will play.
